A wonderful, unusual, Edwardian era ring, modeled in rose gold and silver, whose primary gem is a large, round, cat's eye moonstone cabochon. This white moonstone is set in a low-profile, rose gold bezel, where it is surrounded by a halo of eighteen, natural, rose cut diamonds— it has a prominent, glowing, vertical eye that shifts with movement! The old rose cut diamonds have large, irregular, mirror-like facets— they nest in a continuous collect setting, which is undulating and ribbon-like. The ring's under-gallery is engraved with a delicate pattern of laurels. Its slender shank is split at the shoulders, curled, and decorated with an adorable pair of applied scallop shells. The rest of the ring shank is decoratively notched. We love the way this ring plays with light— the rose cuts catch and throw light in various directions, while the shifting moonstone absorbs it . . . and we love the many beautiful details hiding below the ring's broad shining face!
